Cosa cambia rispetto alla precedente lista
Vi proponiamo una sintesi dei cambiamenti avvenuti nella WWList 2013 rispetto a quella dell’anno precedente ricordandovi che il periodo coperto dalla WWList dal 1 Novembre 2011 al 31 Ottobre 2012.
• La Corea del Nord è al °1 posto della lista dei 50 peggiori persecutori dei cristiani per l’11° anno consecutivo. Si stima che tra 50.000 e 70.000 cristiani soffrano in orribili campi di prigionia. La persecuzione intensa è proseguita sotto il nuovo leader Kim Jong-Un. Il numero di disertori (cioè nordcoreani che fuggono all’estero) in Cina è notevolmente diminuito nel 2012 e la metà di coloro che cercano di fuggire non ce la fanno.
• I primi 10 paesi nel 2013 dopo la Corea del Nord sono Arabia Saudita Afghanistan Iraq Somalia Maldive Mali Iran Yemen e Eritrea.
• Otto dei primi 10 sono paesi a maggioranza islamica. La Corea del Nord è di stampo comunista mentre l’Eritrea è approssimativamente per metà musulmana e metà cristiana con un presidente che sposa una versione del marxismo.
• Il Mali al 7° posto e l’Eritrea al 10° sono le due nuove entrate nei primi 10. Il Mali non era neppure nella WWList l’anno scorso e l’Eritrea era all’11° posto. Oltre al Mali e all’Eritrea fra i paesi africani che risalgono la lista c’è l’Etiopia che sale dal 38° al 15° posto. La Libia dal 26° sale al 17° e la Tanzania che non era fra i primi 50 sale al 24° posto. La Nigeria rimane al 13° posto con molti cristiani e chiese prese di mira dal gruppo estremista islamico Boko Haram.
• Oltre al Mali e alla Tanzania altri paesi ad affacciarsi nella WWList sono il Kenia (40°) l’Uganda (47°) e il Niger (50°). Le nuove entrate e il livello maggiore raggiunto da molti paesi africani riflette un trend crescente di “Risveglio islamico” nel continente. La Somalia il Mali e l’Eritrea sono tutti fra i primi 10 nella lista.
• La maggiore fonte di persecuzione in Mali è l’estremismo islamico. In precedenza il Mali era un tipico stato africano occidentale con una forma in gran parte moderata di islam. Generalmente vi era un certo grado di libertà di vivere la propria fede. Tuttavia la situazione è cambiata con la conquista della parte nord occidentale del paese da parte dei separatisti tuareg e dei combattenti islamisti e la creazione dello stato indipendente di Azawad ad aprile del 2012. Gli islamisti hanno stabilito subito uno stato islamico adottando la sharia nel nord. Molti cristiani sono stati obbligati a fuggire e le chiese sono state bruciate.
• La Primavera Araba si è definitivamente tramutata in un inverno arabo per i cristiani. La guerra civile in Siria che ha causato ad oggi si stima oltre 40. 000 morti ha fatto salire la Siria dal 36° all’11° posto. Molti cristiani sono stati presi di mira e costretti a fuggire.
• Anche la Libia ha fatto un grosso salto dal 26° al 17° posto. La Chiesa è diminuita drammaticamente di numero in parte per i cristiani che stanno lasciando il paese. I salafiti stanno guadagnando influenza cosa che sta avvenendo anche in Tunisia che è salita dal 35° al 30° posto. La Tunisia era conosciuta per esser un paese secolare. Oggi i salafiti stanno diventando molto visibili e influenti nella società.
• Lasciano la top ten l’Uzbekistan che dal 7° posto scende al 16° e il Pakistan che scende dal 10° posto al 14°. Fuori dai 50 paesi nella lista si trovano Cecenia Turchia Cuba Bielorussia e Bangladesh.
• Fra i paesi che hanno fatto grossi balzi nella WWList c’è la Cina che scende dal 21° al 37° posto. Continua il trend che la vedeva al 13° posto nel 2010 (era persino nelle prime 10 cinque anni fa). Hanno fatto un grosso balzo anche le Comore scendendo dal 24° al 41° posto. Il Bhutan dal 17° al 28° posto. I ricercatori di Porte Aperte vedono in Bhutan un miglioramento perché le chiese riescono a tenere culti senza essere molestate. Ogni tanto ci sono ancora problemi e le comunità nelle aree rurali mettono sotto pressione le chiese. Una legge anticonversione è in divenire e pende sulla testa dei cristiani come una spada di Damocle. Questa legge può avere un impatto negativo sui cristiani in Bhutan.
• La persecuzione dei cristiani nel mondo è in crescita. La Cina è l’unico paese dove i ricercatori di Porte Aperte vedono un significativo miglioramento. Cosa cambia rispetto alla precedente lista
Vi proponiamo una sintesi dei cambiamenti avvenuti nella WWList 2013 rispetto a quella dell\’anno precedente ricordandovi che il periodo coperto dalla WWList dal 1 Novembre 2011 al 31 Ottobre 2012.
• La Corea del Nord è al °1 posto della lista dei 50 peggiori persecutori dei cristiani per l\’11° anno consecutivo. Si stima che tra 50.000 e 70.000 cristiani soffrano in orribili campi di prigionia. La persecuzione intensa è proseguita sotto il nuovo leader Kim Jong-Un. Il numero di disertori (cioè nordcoreani che fuggono all\’estero) in Cina è notevolmente diminuito nel 2012 e la metà di coloro che cercano di fuggire non ce la fanno.
• I primi 10 paesi nel 2013 dopo la Corea del Nord sono Arabia Saudita Afghanistan Iraq Somalia Maldive Mali Iran Yemen e Eritrea.
• Otto dei primi 10 sono paesi a maggioranza islamica. La Corea del Nord è di stampo comunista mentre l\’Eritrea è approssimativamente per metà musulmana e metà cristiana con un presidente che sposa una versione del marxismo.
• Il Mali al 7° posto e l\’Eritrea al 10° sono le due nuove entrate nei primi 10. Il Mali non era neppure nella WWList l\’anno scorso e l\’Eritrea era all\’11° posto. Oltre al Mali e all\’Eritrea fra i paesi africani che risalgono la lista c\’è l\’Etiopia che sale dal 38° al 15° posto. La Libia dal 26° sale al 17° e la Tanzania che non era fra i primi 50 sale al 24° posto. La Nigeria rimane al 13° posto con molti cristiani e chiese prese di mira dal gruppo estremista islamico Boko Haram.
• Oltre al Mali e alla Tanzania altri paesi ad affacciarsi nella WWList sono il Kenia (40°) l\’Uganda (47°) e il Niger (50°). Le nuove entrate e il livello maggiore raggiunto da molti paesi africani riflette un trend crescente di \”Risveglio islamico\” nel continente. La Somalia il Mali e l\’Eritrea sono tutti fra i primi 10 nella lista.
• La maggiore fonte di persecuzione in Mali è l\’estremismo islamico. In precedenza il Mali era un tipico stato africano occidentale con una forma in gran parte moderata di islam. Generalmente vi era un certo grado di libertà di vivere la propria fede. Tuttavia la situazione è cambiata con la conquista della parte nord occidentale del paese da parte dei separatisti tuareg e dei combattenti islamisti e la creazione dello stato indipendente di Azawad ad aprile del 2012. Gli islamisti hanno stabilito subito uno stato islamico adottando la sharia nel nord. Molti cristiani sono stati obbligati a fuggire e le chiese sono state bruciate.
• La Primavera Araba si è definitivamente tramutata in un inverno arabo per i cristiani. La guerra civile in Siria che ha causato ad oggi si stima oltre 40. 000 morti ha fatto salire la Siria dal 36° all\’11° posto. Molti cristiani sono stati presi di mira e costretti a fuggire.
• Anche la Libia ha fatto un grosso salto dal 26° al 17° posto. La Chiesa è diminuita drammaticamente di numero in parte per i cristiani che stanno lasciando il paese. • Lasciano la top ten l\’Uzbekistan che dal 7° posto scende al 16° e il Pakistan che scende dal 10° posto al 14°. Fuori dai 50 paesi nella lista si trovano Cecenia Turchia Cuba Bielorussia e Bangladesh.
• Fra i paesi che hanno fatto grossi balzi nella WWList c\’è la Cina che scende dal 21° al 37° posto. Ogni tanto ci sono ancora problemi e le comunità nelle aree rurali mettono sotto pressione le chiese.
